These new Notebook LM updates change everything, and I want to show you exactly why in this video. Most people are still using Notebook LM like a fancy highlighter. Upload a PDF, ask a question, get a summary. That's it.
Google has been quietly building something much more interesting, and the latest updates to Notebook LM turn it into something you probably weren't expecting. Let me walk you through what actually changed, how to use it, and the workflows that make this genuinely useful, especially if you're trying to grow something. Here's the thing. Biggest update is the MindMap feature.
Launched back in March 2025 and has kept getting better. Here's how it works. You upload your sources. Could be PDFs, YouTube links, Google Docs, websites, doesn't matter.
Notebook LM reads all of them. MindMap button in the studio panel. In seconds, it builds a visual map of every key idea inside your sources. Major concept becomes a node.
Related ideas branch off it. Hey, if we haven't met already, I'm the digital avatar of Julian Goldie, CEO of SEO agency Goldie Agency. Whilst he's helping clients get more leads and customers, I'm here to help you get the latest AI updates. Julian Goldie reads every comment, so make sure you comment below.
And here's what makes it different from a normal MindMap. Every single node is clickable. You click on any idea and it opens a chat window tied to just that concept. So if you're looking at a node that says lead generation strategies and you want to go deeper, you click it.
You ask it questions. It's using only your uploaded sources. This is not just a visual tool. It's a navigation system for your thinking.
Let me give you a concrete example. Running the AI profit boardroom and AI automation community. You want to grow it. You upload your landing page copy, a few competitor pages, some testimonials from members, and a handful of articles about community building.
Notebook LM builds the MindMap. You see nodes appear, member retention, onboarding experience, content frequency, pricing positioning. You click pricing positioning. You type what gaps exist in how competitors communicate their value.
And it answers from your sources with citations. No hallucinations, no made up data. Just what's actually in the documents you gave it. That's a workflow that used to take hours of reading and cross-referencing.
Now it takes minutes and you can customize it too. You can prompt Notebook LM to structure the MindMap differently. Tell it to focus on a specific angle. Group ideas by theme.
Reorganize the whole thing based on what matters to you. It's not just AI generated anymore. It's AI you can direct. Now here's the open loop you need to stick around for.
Because the MindMap is just one piece. The studio panel just got a full rebuild and there are now four outputs you can generate from a single set of sources at the same time. Audio overviews, video overviews, MindMaps, and reports. And the way these work together as a single workflow is what most people are completely missing.
But first, if you're serious about learning how to use tools like Notebook LM to automate your business, generate leads, and get more customers on autopilot, that's exactly what we go deep on inside the AI Profit Boardroom. We have step-by-step tutorials specifically on Notebook LM workflows, how to use it for content creation, market research, and building a system that brings in clients without you doing everything manually. We've got four coaching calls every week, a 30-day roadmap, and 2,800 business owners already inside building with these tools. Link in the description.
Let's talk about video overviews because this one surprised me. You upload your sources. You go to the studio panel. You hit Video Overview.
Notebook LM doesn't just make a slideshow with text on it. Builds a narrated video with visuals, diagrams, quotes pulled from your sources, and a clear structure all generated from what you uploaded. There are now multiple formats, brief and explainer, six visual styles to choose from, powered by Google's Nano Banana image generation model. And you can write a prompt to customize it, tell it to focus on a specific topic, aim it at a specific audience, adjust the difficulty level.
And now here's the part that's genuinely powerful for content creators and business owners. You can create multiple outputs of the same type inside one notebook. Before this update, you could only make one mind map, one audio overview, one video. Now you can make five different audio overviews from the same sources, each aimed at a different audience.
One for beginners, one for advanced users, one in a different language. Same sources, different output. Let me show you how this actually looks as a workflow. Say you want to create content around the AI Profit Boardroom to attract new members.
Here's the exact process. Step one, upload your sources. Drop in your sales page copy, some YouTube videos where you've explained what the community does, a few screenshots of member wins, and maybe a competitor's landing page. That's your source base.
Step two, let Notebook LM read everything. It takes about 30 seconds. Step three, generate a mind map. You'll instantly see the structure of everything you uploaded, all the key themes, angles, and talking points visualized.
Click the node that says community benefits and ask what makes this community different from a standard online course. It'll pull the answer from your own content. Step four, generate a video overview. Prompt it, create and explain a video aimed at business owners who are new to AI automation and want to get more customers.
Builds the video from your sources. Step five, generate an audio overview. This is the podcast style summary. Two AI voices discussing your content back and forth covering all the key points.
You can now use interactive mode, which means you can actually jump into the conversation and ask questions in real time. Step six, use the report feature. This pulls a briefing document, a blog post draft, a study guide, or a strategic analysis, all from the same upload. You pick the format.
That entire workflow, market research, content strategy, video, audio, written report from one set of uploaded documents. This is what people mean when they say Notebook LM became a content factory. And it never makes things up. Every single output is grounded in what you uploaded.
Every claim is cited. You can click any citation and jump straight to the passage in the original document. That's what makes it different from just asking a chatbot. The information stays locked to your sources.
Here's another thing most people aren't doing yet. The multitasking feature inside studio. You can now run multiple outputs at the same time. So while your video overview is generating, you can be exploring the mind map or listening to the audio overview while reviewing the study guide.
You're not waiting. You're working in parallel and the mobile app just got upgraded too. Deep links now work. If someone sends you a link to a notebook, it opens directly in the app.
Chat now streams in real time so you're reading as it types. And when you ask a complex question, it actually shows you when it's thinking. So you know it's working through something more involved. Now I want to come back to that open loop from earlier.
The real question isn't what does each feature do? The real question is what does it mean when all of these features work together? Here's what the full pipeline actually looks like. You dump every piece of relevant information into a notebook.
Competitor content. Your own content. Market research. Customer feedback.
Anything. Notebook LM organizes it. The mind map shows you the shape of everything. You navigate it, ask questions, find the gaps.
Then you generate outputs. A video, an audio overview, a report, all from the same base. Each one customized for a different purpose or audience. And you do all of this without switching tools.
Without 15 tabs open. Without manually reading through stacks of documents. People who learn to use this well, who understand the full workflow, not just one feature, they're going to produce more, faster, with less effort. And that compounds over time.
If you want to build that kind of system for your business, not just for content, but for getting leads, nurturing prospects, and automating the parts of your business that eat your time, that's what we work on inside the AI Profit Boardroom. We've built a 30-day roadmap specifically around using tools like Notebook LM to grow your business. Week one is about setting up your research and content system. Week two is connecting it to lead generation.
Week three is automation. Week four is scaling what works. We have four live coaching calls every week where you can bring your exact setup and get feedback in real time. Business owners in there.
A lot of them already using Notebook LM as part of their client acquisition workflow, and you can connect with members near you on the member map. There's always someone online. Link in the description or go to AIProfitBoardroom.com. And if you want the full step-by-step breakdowns, video notes, and access to 100 plus AI use cases like this one, completely free, come join the AI Success Lab.
It was in there. Everything from this video, plus the prompts, plus the workflow breakdowns. Link in the comments and description. Notebook LM just became a lot more than a note-taking tool.
And the people using the full workflow, not just one feature, are the ones who are going to feel it first.
