Google's new Gemini update just changed video. That's the topic today and I mean that literally because Google just gave everyday people a full video team inside one tool. Here's what happened. On July 16th, Google rolled out two new features inside Google Vids.
One is called Gemini Omni and the other is called Personal Avatars. Together they let you type a sentence and get a finished video clip back. No camera, no microphone, no editing software. Let me give you the scale of this because it's bigger than it sounds.
Gemini Omni was first announced at Google I.O. back in 2026 as an all-purpose model that can work from text, images, sketches, voice recordings, and existing footage. That means it doesn't just make new clips, it understands what you already have and can change it. A year ago, if you wanted a video, you needed a camera, a script, an editor, and hours of your time.
Now you type what you want. Hey, if we haven't met already, I'm the digital avatar of Julian Goldie, CEO of SEO agency Goldie Agency. Whilst he's helping clients get more leads and customers, I'm here to help you get the latest AI updates. And Julian Goldie reads every comment, so make sure you comment below.
Gemini Omni lets people generate video clips just by describing what they want in plain language. And you can even upload a photo or a rough sketch so the AI understands the look you're going for. That's the acceleration, from hours of filming to one sentence. Here's the part that actually matters, so let me explain it simply.
Think of old video editing like building furniture from scratch. You need wood, tools, glue, and hours of patience. Gemini Omni is more like describing the chair you want to someone who already has the wood, tools, and skill, and they hand you the finished chair in minutes. Once your first clip is ready, you can keep chatting with it to change the background, fix the lighting, add effects, or adjust one part of the scene.
You're not scrubbing a timeline, you're having a conversation. And this isn't locked to AI-made clips only. The same editing tools also work on footage you filmed on your own phone. So if you film something with bad lighting in your kitchen, you can just ask Gemini to fix it, no reshoot needed.
Let's talk about who actually gets this right now, because Google didn't just flip a switch for everyone. Gemini Omni and Personal Avatars are rolling out to Google, AI Pro, and Ultra subscribers, plus eligible Google Workspace business customers. That matters because Google Vids already sits inside Workspace, the same place millions of businesses keep their documents, spreadsheets, and slides. Google has said millions of videos have already been made using Vids over the past year, even before this update landed.
So this is being added on top of a tool people already open every day, not some brand new app you have to go find. There's also an admin layer built in for businesses. Company admins can manage or even switch off the Personal Avatar feature for their whole team through the Workspace admin console. So a business owner isn't stuck with this feature turned on by default.
It's a choice. And on the safety side, Google didn't skip the boring but important stuff. Making a Personal Avatar takes a secure verification step tied to your actual Google account so nobody else can build a version of you without your say-so. Every single clip made this way carries an invisible Synth ID watermark from Google DeepMind so anyone can check whether a video was AI made.
At launch, this is English only for users 18 and up, and it's not yet available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. So if you're in one of those spots, you'll want to keep an eye on when that changes. Let's pause here for a second because I want to help you actually use this, not just hear about it. If you run any kind of business and you're watching all these AI tools drop every single week, this is exactly why the iProfit boardroom exists.
Every time something like Gemini Omni ships, we sit down and build a simple plan around it. And one of the first things we teach members is how to use tools like this to promote their own business better. Inside the community right now, members are already using AI video tools to build video ads, welcome clips, and landing pages that bring in more people. If you want the full walkthrough on how to use Gemini Omni to promote your business, plus a library of prompts you can copy and use today, that's what's waiting for you inside the iProfit boardroom.
We break it down step-by-step so you're never guessing what to type. Links in the description and it takes less than a minute to get in. Now let's talk about the second piece because this is the one people are going to react to, personal avatars. Here's how it works.
You upload a selfie and a short voice recording and Google builds a digital version of you that can read out a script on camera. You type words, your avatar says them in your voice with your face. Think of it like a stunt double, except this stunt double looks exactly like you and only works for you. Google added a secure verification process to capture your likeness and that avatar is locked to your Google account.
It's currently limited to users who are 18 or older in certain regions and it's not available yet in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom. Now here's a question you're probably already asking. Who is this actually for? Right now this is rolling out through Google Workspace and Google is clearly leaning into business use.
Things like onboarding videos for new staff and internal company updates. Let me give you a real example of how someone could use this to grow something like the AI Profit Boardroom right now because that's more useful than me just describing features. Say you want a short video that turns cold viewers into new AI Profit Boardroom members. Here's what that's for.
You want a clip that explains the community fast, builds trust and gets people to click the link without you filming anything yourself. Here's the kind of prompt you type into Gemini Omni. Create a warm, confident video of a business owner sitting in a modern office speaking directly to camera explaining that the AI Profit Boardroom is a community where business owners learn practical AI automation together. Mention the daily tutorials, the coaching calls and the fact that members support each other in real time.
Use soft, natural lighting and a clean professional background. Keep the tone friendly and direct, not salesy. Here's what you'd get back. A finished clip ready to post or send with your avatar speaking those exact words in your voice with lighting already handled for you.
That's one workflow. Here's a second one because a video ad is only half the job. You also need somewhere for people to land. Let's say you want a landing page video that sits at the top of your AI Profit Boardroom signup page.
Here's what that's for. You want something that looks polished, explains the value fast and gets more people to actually join. Here's the prompt. Generate a short landing page video of a presenter explaining in simple words why the AI Profit Boardroom helps business owners save time using AI automation.
Show the presenter in a clean home office setting. Add on-screen text highlighting three benefits, daily tutorials, weekly coaching calls and a community to get help from. Keep the pacing quick, the tone confident and the explanation simple enough for someone brand new to AI. Here's what you'd get.
A short, clear video for your landing page with your avatar walking through the benefits. Text on screen to reinforce each point and no filming required. That's genuinely the biggest shift happening in AI right now. Tools that used to need a whole team behind them now need one clear sentence from you.
If you want to actually use Gemini Omni to grow something the way I just showed you, whether that's a video ad, a landing page clip or a welcome video for new followers, that's exactly what we build inside the AI Profit Boardroom. Every time a tool like this drops, we turn it into a simple plan with real prompts you can copy straight into Gemini Omni so you're never staring at a blank screen wondering what to type. Members are already using these exact kinds of prompts to build clips that bring in new people and explain their business better than a plain camera video ever could. On top of that, you get weekly coaching calls where you can ask questions live, daily tutorials, walking you through tools like this the moment they ship and a community of people testing this stuff in real time right alongside you.
If you want that plan for Gemini Omni specifically, the link is in the description and the comments below. And if you just want the free version of this, the notes, the prompts and around 100 other AI use cases just like the ones I gave you today, come join the AI Success Lab. It's a free community. Links are in the comments and description.
You'll find the full notes from this video there along with a community of people who are already putting tools like this to work. Either way, don't sit on this one too long. The businesses testing this stuff now are the ones who'll know exactly how to use it once everyone else catches up.
