These Claude updates change everything. On May 11th, 2026, Anthropic dropped something called Agent View inside Claude code, and honestly, it's a way bigger deal than most people are saying. Because for the first time, you can run a dozen Claude agents at the same time, in one screen, and watch them all work for you. Think about that.

12 Claude sessions. Going at once. Doing different jobs. And you just sit there and check in when one of them needs you.

That's not a small update. That's a whole new way of using Claude. And there's more. They also shipped a new command called Goal.

You type one sentence. Claude keeps going until the job is actually done. Writes, checks its own work. Fixes its mistakes.

And then a second Claude looks over the first one's work to make sure it's right before it tells you it's finished. I want to walk you through every piece of this. What it is. Why it matters.

For this update, if you wanted to run more than one Claude session at the same time, you had a mess. People were opening five terminal tabs. Or running Tmux, which is a tool that splits your screen into little boxes. Agent View fixes all of that.

You type one command Claude Agents, and you get one clean list. Every Claude session you have running shows up as a route. Each row tells you the status. Is it working?

Is it waiting for your input? Is it done? Did it fail? You can see all of it in one place.

You can also send a Claude to the background with a slash bg command. So you start a task, say go do that, and it goes off and works while you do something else. When it needs you, it pings you. When it's done, you check it.

Thropic's own words on this were simple. It said it's one list of all your sessions. But what that really means is huge. You went from talking to one Claude at a time to managing a whole group of them.

Each row shows a Claude code session, its current state, its last activity, and whether it is working, waiting for input, completed, failed, idle, or stopped. It's available right now if you have a Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise, or API plan. Users can opt in from the terminal by running Claude Agents. But here's where it gets even more interesting.

The same update brought a new command called goal. Most prompts work like this. You ask, Claude answers, done, one turn. That's how chat has always worked.

Goal is different. You give Claude a goal, not a prompt. Goal. And Claude keeps working on it until the goal is actually reached.

Unlike a standard prompt, a goal is an objective driven instruction that Claude will pursue until it reaches a defined completion state. Now before I keep going, let me give you a quick heads up. Okay, back to the updates. The next big piece is multi-agent work. This is the part most people miss. Thropic isn't just letting you run lots of Claudes.

They're letting one Claude give orders to other Claudes. It's called a lead agent and sub-agents. The lead agent is like the project manager. It breaks the job into smaller pieces.

Then it sends each piece to a different Claude that's set up just for that piece. The finance update they shipped on May 5th shows where this is going. Anthropic dropped 10 ready-to-run agent templates just for finance. The templates package skills, connectors, and sub-agents so firms can deploy agents in Claude co-work, Claude code, or as cookbooks for Claude managed agents.

Let's data science. These templates do real jobs. Pitch book building, KYC checks, month-end close, earnings review, valuation review, statement audits. Anthropic's list of agents includes pitch builder, meeting preparer, earnings reviewer, model builder, market researcher, valuation reviewer, general ledger reconciler, month-end closer, statement auditor, and KYC screener.

The register, each one is built the same way. It has skills, which are the instructions, connectors, which let it talk to outside tools, and sub-agents, which are smaller helper Claudes that handle one part of the job, and the results are showing up at real banks. Financial services now make up Anthropic's second biggest source of enterprise revenue right behind tech. Roughly 40% of its top 50 clients are financial firms.

TS2, that's not a science project. That's Wall Street using this stuff every day. Now let me hit the next piece, Microsoft 365. This one didn't get as much noise, but it's a big deal for normal users.

Claude now works inside Excel, PowerPoint, and Word with Outlook coming soon. Once the add-ins are installed, Context carries automatically between applications, so work that starts in a model can end in a deck without re-explaining anything in between. So you start something in Excel, move it to PowerPoint. Claude remembers what you were doing.

You don't have to re-explain anything. It just keeps the thread. Example. You drop your community member numbers into Excel.

You ask Claude to find trends. Then you say, now make this into a slide deck. Boom. PowerPoint opens.

Claude builds the deck with your numbers. Already styled? That's the kind of thing that used to eat a whole afternoon. Now it takes 10 minutes.

And there's one more thing they added. Dispatch. In Claude co-work, users can also assign Claude work tasks from anywhere by text or by voice using dispatch. Claude can keep working on analysts' local files while they're away from their desk, with finished work ready for review by the time they're back.

Now let me zoom out for a second, because all of this stuff connects. Agent View is the dashboard. Goal is the autopilot. Agents are the team.

The finance templates are the proof that real companies are paying for this. Microsoft 365 is the everyday office use. Dispatch is the work from anywhere piece. Put it all together, and you're looking at something that feels a lot less like a chat app, and a lot more like a system you run a business on.

The majority of code is now written by Claude code. Engineers focus on architecture, product thinking, and continuous orchestration, managing multiple agents in parallel, giving direction, and making the decisions that shape what gets built. Now let me also be honest with you. There are some real risks here.

Running agents that go off on their own can break things. Anthropic added that supervisor Claude for a reason. People have already had agents do dumb stuff. Make files.

Push bad code. Get stuck in loops. The fix is simple. Don't give Claude full access to anything that can't be fixed.

Always have human review. Use the time and turn limits. Test on small jobs before you trust big ones. Defaulting Claude code is cautious anyway.

Claude code requires explicit permission before modifying files or running commands. Anthropic, but people will turn that off because they want speed, and that's when bad things happen. So go slow. Trust by checking, not by hoping.
