Ruflo: New Claude Agent Swarms Update is INSANE!

Ruflow, new Claude agent swarms update is insane. Flow just dropped its new update and the new Claude agent swarms in version 3.6.12 are kind of insane. Talking 100 plus AI agents working together at the same time. They share memory.

They talk to each other. They learn from every job they finish. And they plug right into Claude code with one line. If you've only used Claude as a single chat window, you've been missing the real game.

One agent is fine. 100 agents working together, sharing notes, voting on the next step, finishing jobs while you sleep. That's a different planet. And the wild part is this thing used to be called Claude flow.

The creator, a guy named Reuven Cohen started it as a personal experiment back in May 2025. Just him messing around. Now it has over 36,000 stars on GitHub, around 500,000 downloads, about 100,000 people using it every month across more than 80 countries. January 2026, he renamed it Ruflow.

The Roo is from his name Ruf. The flow is for flow state. That's it. So let me show you what this thing actually does, why the new update matters and how a normal business owner can use it without writing a line of code.

Here's the simple way to think about Ruflow Claude code is one smart worker, smart, sure, but still one worker flow is the manager that hires a whole team of Claude workers gives each one a job, make sure they share notes and keeps them all on track. That's it. That's the whole idea. Team has roles.

There's a coder agent, tester agent, a reviewer, an architect, a security agent, writer, researcher, a documenter. There are over 60 of these roles built in and you can make your own in a simple file. Some are Queens. Queens make the big calls or workers.

Workers do the grunt work. They all talk to each other in the background while you keep doing your thing. In the old days, you'd give Claude one big prompt and pray. Now you say what you want and Ruflow splits it into pieces.

The architect plans, the coder builds, the tester checks, the reviewer fixes. They all share one memory. So nobody forgets what was decided five minutes ago. That memory part is huge.

Ruflow uses something called agent DB. It's a special kind of memory that's built for AI agents. They say it's 150 to 12,500 times faster than basic search. In plain English, your agents remember stuff across sessions, cross projects, even across machines.

You can shut your laptop, come back tomorrow and your team picks up right where they stopped. Now let's talk about what's new in the May 2026 update. This is version 3.612. The stable release dropped on April 29th and a small bump came out on May 3rd.

The big one is something called Federation. This is brand new. Federation lets two or more Ruflow setups on different computers talk to each other safely. So your team in one office and a partner team in another office can share AI agents and work together without leaking your private data.

It uses a thing called MTLS and ED25519 keys. You don't need to know what those are. Just know that it's the same kind of trust setup banks use. There's also a 14 type system that scans for private info like emails or social numbers and strips it out before anything leaves your computer.

The team behind it gave a real example. Bank A and Bank B can share fraud signals without sharing customer info. That's the kind of thing that used to take months of legal back and forth. Now it's two commands.

Next big change. Ruflow went from 87 native tools in the last version to 314 tools in this one. That's a 3.5x jump. These are things like CI checks, security scans, cloud deploys and observability.

If those words mean nothing to you that's fine. Just know your AI team got a much bigger toolbox. Then there's the speed fix. The way agents talk to each other got rewritten.

They used to time out on long jobs. Now there's something called adaptive back pressure. When one agent gets too busy the others slow down so nothing breaks. Long jobs that used to crash now finish.

You also get 16 built-in agent roles plus your own custom ones in a YAML file. YAML is just a simple text file. You don't need to be a coder to write one. And there are 19 different memory controllers now so your agents can plug into Postgres, Redis, SQLite, Qdrant, you name it.

Here's a stat that should make you stop scrolling. On a coding test called SWEbench, Ruflow solves 84.8% of the problems. That puts it above a lot of paid agent tools. It also cuts API calls by about 75% because it routes the easy stuff to cheaper, faster models and saves the big brain for the hard stuff.

Say you run a small marketing shop. Right now you're probably writing client reports by hand or maybe you copy and paste stuff into ChatGPT and clean it up. With Ruflow, you'd set up a small swarm. One agent pulls the data.

One agent writes the first draft. One agent checks the numbers. One agent formats the final report. They run together while you work on something else.

By the time you check back, the report's done. Say you're a real estate agent. You could spin up a swarm that watches new listings, writes property descriptions, drafts the email to send to your buyers list and saves everything in your memory bank so the next batch is even faster. You set it up once.

It runs. This is the part most people miss. You don't need to be a coder. The setup is one line.

Here it is. You open Cloud Code in your terminal. You type Cloud MCP add Ruflow. Then you add a small bit that pulls the latest version.

Hit enter. Done. You now have an AI workforce sitting inside Cloud Code. The other way is even simpler.

There's a setup wizard. You type npx ruflow at latest init dash dash wizard. Walks you through everything. Pick your roles.

Pick your memory. Pick your provider. Hit go. Once it's running, you don't need to learn 314 tools.

The whole point is you keep using Cloud Code like normal. Ruflow handles the team behind the scenes. There are little helpers called hooks that watch what you do and route the work to the right agent without you asking. Let me hit you with the new plugin marketplace because this is one of my favorite parts.

Ruflow now has 32 native Cloud Code plugins plus 21 npm plugins. You install them like apps on your phone. There's Ruflow core for the basics. Ruflow swarm for team coordination.

Ruflow autopilot which lets agents run on their own in a loop. There's Ruflow loop workers that schedules background tasks on a timer so you could have an agent check your inbox every hour, sort the leads, draft replies and have them ready when you sit down. That's not theory. That's what people are doing today.

There's also Ruflow RAG memory. RAG is just a fancy way of saying your agents can pull from your own files and notes. So if you have a folder full of past client emails, contracts, brand guidelines, whatever, your swarm reads from that and stays on brand. No more Claude doesn't know my business problem.

Now here's something most people skipped over. Ruflow runs offline. You can plug it into a local model called Olimar. That means your private data never leaves your computer.

For lawyers, doctors, accountants, anyone with sensitive info, this changes the game. You get the AI workforce. You keep the privacy. There's also a self-learning piece called Sona.

Every time your swarm finishes a job, Sona looks at what worked. It saves that pattern. The next time you give it a similar job, it routes the work even faster and better. It actually gets smarter the more you use it.

Most AI tools forget everything between chats. Ruflow remembers and improves. Let me drop another real example. Say you run an online store.

You'd build a swarm with a writer agent, a SEO agent, a product researcher, and an image describer. Every time you add a new product, the swarm writes the description, picks the keywords, and drafts the social post. You sit there and approve. That's a one-person team running like five people.

For a coach, you could have one agent watch your calendar, one draft follow-up emails, one summarize your client calls from notes, and one update your CRM. They run while you sleep. You wake up. Inbox is sorted.

CRM is updated. Clean. Here's the part that's a little wild. The team running this thing is small.

One main developer and a community. But the project pulled in 6,000 plus commits and 250,000 lines of code. It's built on TypeScript and Rust under the hood, which means it's fast and it's solid. This isn't a weekend hack.

It's a real platform. The May 1 update fixed a bunch of small bugs too. They fixed a thing where some commands hung forever. They fixed a memory bug where files were being saved to the wrong folder.

They added security patches across six different parts of the system. Ejection blocks. Path traversal fixes. Boring stuff that matters.

This is why they call it production ready. It's not a toy anymore. Now, I want to be straight with you. There are some real things to know.

First, you do need to be okay with the terminal. Just type in simple commands, not coding. But you have to be cool with seeing a black screen and typing things in. If that scares you, watch a 10 minute video and you'll be fine.

Second, this works best when you have a clear job for it. If you don't know what you want, a swarm of agents won't fix that. Garbage in, garbage out. Him as any AI tool.

Third, if you're on Claude Pro or Max, there were some changes back in April 2026 about how third-party tools work with subscriptions. You may want to check the latest setup. The Ruflow team keeps it updated to work with all the standard plans. The upside?

Once you're cool with that, run the Ruflow wizard. Pick defaults that work. You don't need to know what HNSW or AgentDB is. The defaults are smart.

One job in your business that's repetitive. Reports, emails, follow-ups, content drafts. Anything you do over and over. Build a small swarm for that one job.

Watch it run. Then add another job. Then another. In a month, you'll have a chunk of your work running on autopilot.
