New perplexity AI computer update is insane. The perplexity computer just connected to Snowflake, and if you store any kind of business data anywhere, this is one of the most useful AI updates you'll hear about this year. Here's what just happened. The perplexity computer, their AI agent that can do work for you in the background, can now plug directly into your Snowflake data warehouse.

Your live company data. And you ask it questions in plain English. SQL. Data analyst.

No waiting. Just ask and it goes in, queries the live data, and gives you an answer with the source tables, the filters, the metrics, everything cited. Think about what that actually means. For this, if you wanted to pull something from your data warehouse, you either knew SQL or you waited for someone who did.

That was the bottleneck. That was the whole game. And now perplexity just removed it. The way it works is actually clever.

When you connect Snowflake to perplexity, it automatically builds something called a data map. Think of the data map as perplexity, learning the layout of your data, your tables, your column names, how things relate to each other, what queries get run most often. It studies all of that. And then when you ask a question, it already understands your data well enough to write accurate SQL behind the scenes and return the right answer.

You don't see the school. You don't write the school. You just get the answer. And this is available right now.

Perplexity Pro, Perplexity Max, Enterprise Pro, Enterprise Max, all of them can use the Snowflake connector today. What does that actually look like in practice? You type something like, show me month over month churn rate by pricing tier for the past 12 months. Perplexity goes into your Snowflake, pulls it, and comes back with the answer.

You say, pull our NPS scores from Snowflake, then compare them against industry benchmarks. It combines your live internal data with real-time web research and gives you both in the same answer. That's not a thing that existed six months ago. It's what makes this genuinely different from just connecting a BI tool.

BI dashboard shows you what you already decided to measure. Perplexity lets you ask questions you didn't plan for. You're not locked into the charts someone built last quarter. You're having a real conversation with your actual data live right now.

That's a completely different relationship with information. And the Snowflake connector doesn't just work alone. Works with everything else computer is connected to. So you could pull pipeline data from Salesforce, cross-reference it with warehouse data from Snowflake, and then ask computer to post a summary every Monday morning at 9am into your Slack channel automatically.

Edit once, it runs every week. No report, no dashboard. Just the answer you need, when you need it, where your team already is. If you want to know how to set this up for your business, how to connect Perplexity computer to your data, and actually use it to get more done with less, come join us inside the AI Profit boardroom.

We've already got members in there running Perplexity computer workflows for client reporting, lead gen pipelines, and automated research. We have a 30-day roadmap specifically built around Perplexity computer. How to set it up. Business owners building with this stuff right now.

Both of the major cloud data warehouses. And they did this at the same time as launching Computer for Enterprise. Their full enterprise offering that includes connectors for Salesforce, HubSpot, SharePoint, Datadog, and more. This isn't just a nice update for power users.

This is Perplexity going after the whole enterprise market. Microsoft Copilot. Salesforce Einstein. That's the competition they're now in the ring with.

And they're doing it with a product that 300 of their own employees tested internally before it went public. Four weeks of internal testing across 16,000 queries. They said Computer did what would have taken a full team 3.25 years of work. That's not a marketing number from a press release.

That's what they benchmarked internally. Against the kind of standards used by McKinsey, MIT, Harvard, BCG. Whether you apply a skeptic's haircut to that or not, the direction is undeniable. Let me explain why the data map piece matters so much.

Because this is the technical detail that most people gloss over. The biggest problem with AI and data has always been this. AI doesn't know what your data means. It might know what a customer is in general.

But it doesn't know that in your Snowflake database, the customer table is called A-C-E-T master. And the field for sign up date is labeled created T. That mismatch is what caused AI generated SQL to fail. Wrote queries that looked right but pulled wrong results or broke entirely.

Data map fixes this. Learns your specific schema, column names, your relationships, the queries your team has historically run. So when you ask, what's our average deal size by region this quarter? Doesn't guess.

It already knows exactly where that data lives and how to get it. The answer comes back right. That's the unlock. This is also why perplexity is leaning so hard into the no SQL required positioning.

Because the people who need data the most are usually the people who can't write SQL. Sales manager shouldn't need to file a ticket with the data team every time they want to check pipeline health. Marketing director shouldn't have to wait two days to find out which campaign drove the most signups last month. This makes that a self-serve thing.

You ask in English, you get the answer. And here's where it gets really practical for smaller teams. Snowflake isn't just for giant companies anymore. Lot of growing businesses use it for product analytics, customer data, sales data.

If you're one of those teams and you don't have a dedicated data analyst, this is as close as you'll get to having one on call right now for the cost of a perplexity pro subscription. The Slack piece makes this even more powerful. Computer now lives in Slack. You or anyone on your team can tag at computer in any Slack channel, ask a question and computer goes and finds the answer from Snowflake, from your CRM, from the web, from wherever it needs to go.

The answer comes back in the thread. The whole team sees it. And you can keep that conversation going in the full perplexity interface if you want to go deeper. Context doesn't break.

It stays connected. Perplexity shared one specific example of how this looks inside Slack. A team needed to pull the latest pipeline numbers from Salesforce every Monday at 9am and post them to their how-to-sales-updates channel. Set that up once in computer.

Runs automatically. No human needed to pull the report. No manual export. Data shows up, cited, accurate from the live source.

Now here's something worth thinking about. Perplexity built this internally first. Before they sold it to anyone, they used it themselves. And in four weeks of 300 employees using it in Slack for their own team, inside their own company.

So they have skin in the game here. They know this works because they saw it work before they shipped it. The other thing worth noting is what happens when you combine Snowflake data with Perplexity's web research capabilities. That's where this gets genuinely interesting.

Say you run a SaaS company. You pull your NPS scores from Snowflake. Then you ask Perplexity to find the industry average NPS for your category and compare the two. Before, that was a multi-step process.

Export the data, go find the benchmark, manually put them side by side. Now it's one question. And the answer comes with citations. The source tables for your internal data and the web sources for the benchmarks.

Everything traceable. The connectors also work together. So if your leads come in through HubSpot and the enriched data lives in Snowflake, computer can pull from both in the same query. Cross-reference them.

This is the kind of thing that used to require a data engineering project. Now it's a question. And here's what's coming next that makes this even bigger. Perplexity also just announced something called Personal Computer.

A version of computer that runs 24-7 on a dedicated Mac mini. Monitors triggers, runs tasks in the background and carries work forward around the clock. You don't even have to be at your desk. If your Snowflake data updates overnight, Personal Computer can run the query, process the results and have a report ready for you when you wake up.

That hasn't fully shipped yet, but it's coming. And the Snowflake connector is clearly designed to feed into it. The bigger picture here is this. Data has always been the thing businesses said they had, but couldn't actually use fast enough.

Reports were always a week late. Analysts were always stretched. Dashboards showed what they showed and nothing more. Perplexity is building the layer that sits on top of all of it and makes it answerable in real time, in plain language by anyone on the team.

The people who start using this now, who connect their data, learn what to ask and build the workflows are going to move faster than the people who don't. Not because it's magic, because they'll have answers when everyone else is still waiting for the report. Here's what to do. If you're on Perplexity Pro or Max, go to your connector settings and look for the Snowflake integration.

You'll need admin access to your Snowflake account to set up the service account and key pair authentication. Perplexity's help docs walk you through it step-by-step. Once that's done, trigger the data map generation. Let it learn your schema.

That's the setup. After that, you're just asking questions. If you don't use Snowflake, but you use Databricks, do the same thing. That connector is live now too.

And if you're using Salesforce or HubSpot, those connectors are already there. Start there. Get comfortable with asking questions in plain English about your business data. Build that muscle, then add more connectors as you go.

The thing I keep coming back to is how fast this moved. 12 months ago, AI talking to your data warehouse was a data engineering project. Today, it's a setting you turn on. That acceleration is real.

And where it goes next, with personal computer running 24-7, with more connectors, with better data maps, the gap between teams using this and teams not using it is only going to grow. If you want step-by-step tutorials on how to connect Perplexity computer to Snowflake and actually use it to automate your reporting, your research, and your client workflows, come join us inside the AI Profit boardroom.
